does anyone actually buy this?!

so as i was whiling away some free time this weekend, i was thumbing through the skymall catalog i stole from one of the legs of my return flight from california.  and i stumbled across this...

ummm....really?  is this necessary?  someone has maybe been watching meet the parents one too many times?  there is just something so american about thinking, hmmm...i've got an extra 50 bucks lying around.  should i save it or train my cat to use the toilet?  definitely option b.  i am stuck somewhere between horror and hysterics.  i'm leaning towards hysterics because i can see my dad ordering this during a late-night infomercial as a last-ditch effort to get their geriatric cat {who he is convinced is out to ruin his life...and floors} to stop peeing all over the place.

please tell me i'm not the only one who is completely fascinated by this invention.  and please tell me one of you has tried this.  i would {not so} secretly love to know if this works.

this cracks me up. my husband used to travel 5 days a week for his job (for six years!) and was always bringing home the Sky Mall mags and I would seriously wonder the same thing. my favorite? along the same lines as the Kitty Potty seat, was the fake panel of grass that you could buy for those "lazy days" when you didn't feel like taking your dog outside. like, really? what is it with people's obsession with their pet's potty habits? so freakin' weird...

Omg, I saw this on my flight back from Chicago last month and thought the SAME thing. Seriously, who uses these?!? I guess I shouldn't knock it if I haven't tried it, but let me be clear, I will NOT be trying it. EVER lol.

PS: I don't even have a cat, lol, but still, I'm certain I won't ever ever ever try it :)

I read another blog that posted info (and a link to a video... gross) about this very product a few weeks ago. As awesome as it would be to not have to clean a litter box, this is just plain disgusting. :(

I am always so tempted to order things from the Skymall! This is definitely one of the weirder skymall items though
