i won't go into detail right now as i am in a complete state of shock, but the beau and i have called it quits. three days before i was supposed to go and meet his family. came out of nowhere. i'm a total wreck. i'm still here reading, but i may disappear again for a little while. everything just hurts right now.

I am married but was recently thinking of how I got dumped around holidays and birthdays. Oh, and a couple of times just before Valentine's Day (which I now hate). And then the guy came back afterwards. It's like they don't want to deal with the pressure of gifts, meeting/mingling with family & what it all means. Yes, guys can be this cowardly that they just dump not to deal and then pick up later after they feel less pressure. I don't agree or think it's right. And if he ends up coming back, I don't know what it means. Some would say if he really wants to be with you he would be happy to have you meet his family, etc... but you just never know what he's thinking. My husband acted so bizarre when I first met his family. I got along so well w/them I thought it freaked him out. 7 years later and he still acts a little weird when we're around them. So maybe he has a funky family dynamic he didn't want you to get mixed up in. Ugh. The holidays. But if he truly doesn't want to be in a relationship, better to know now. Cliche, but true. Well, whatever happens I hope that you are happy!!

I know EXACTLY what you are going through because I'm in the midst of dealing with the same thing. It's heartbreaking, and if you need someone to commiserate with- email me... i could use a friend in the same boat!
