hello my lovelies! i'm off to the beach for a quick weekend with the beau and his siblings + significant others. but before i leave, i just need to put this cosmic question out there:
am i a total snob for unabashedly judging people whose so-called love of sushi only involves california and shrimp tempura rolls? don't get me wrong, i love a spider roll as much as the next poser, but can you really claim to love sushi if you don't eat anything raw? i think not. several of my girlfriends fall into this camp and it just kills me.
just wondering...

i don't like sushi at all (even though i fall under the category of folks who will eat california rolls on occasion). but i don't go around telling people i like sushi since i don't really consider that sushi. so no you're not a total snob. in the same way i'm not a total snob for thinking that people who claim to love satc based on watching it on TBS or flock to see the movie when they never watched the show. oh wow, i guess i just needed a tiny rant today. sorry for taking it out on your comment section. xoxo! enjoy your vacay!
totally agree!
I eat tons of raw. but my friends are in to other rolls.(does that sound dirty?) I say as long as the consume saki with their meal they can be sushi lovers!! Just kidding! Have a great beach weekend!
A little bit ;-) Maybe some of them have never realized what they are eating isnt' actually sushi?
hehe. sushi snob! love it.
LOL! I don't love sushi, and would never claim too. I guess some say it to be cool? I have no idea...
I love eel! Does that count as a true sushi-lover? :)
I'm with you...
I so could have wrote this! It's not even sushi people!!
This is a huge pet peeve. We can be sushi snobs together!
I don't think that's wrong, but I'll be honest, with my allergy to shellfish and my picky eating habbits, I'm pretty limited. But the one sushi roll I love, I REALLY LOVE! I'm a spicy tuna roll girl! Though I can tolerate other rolls that have only fish... and have even tried sashimi a time or two so I guess you can't judge me! hee hee Have fun!
I am right there with you, but then again my friends who don't like the raw rolls, don't claim to be sushi lovers.
Mmmmmm. The raw stuff is the best part!
Totally agree with you. When I hear "I like sushi," I expect the liking to involve sashimi, nigiri, unagi, hamachi, and tamago -- the mark of a good sushi chef!
